Parenting Resource Network An information and referral service for parents of children birth to five. A coalition of community and government agencies, libraries, hospitals, school districts, nursery schools and child care centers that provide parent education to parents of young children. It features a dedicated phone line for parents to call with questions or concerns and a website listing resources in the community along with a calendar of parent education programs offered by the participating partners. An initiative of the Friedberg JCC in Oceanside, NY.

Friedberg JCC The Friedberg JCC is a non-profit, full-service, Jewish Community Center offering programs for infants through senior adults and is open to all in the community. The JCC is a beneficiary agency of UJA-Federation of New York. For more information about the JCC, visit the website at www.friedbergjcc.org

Professional Staff Karen Horowitz is an experienced early childhood professional with a background in teaching, administration and parenting education. She has a masters degree in elementary education with certification N-6. She believes passionately about the importance of the early years in helping children reach their optimal potential. Since parents are their child's first teachers, support for parents in that role is essential and every parent needs a boost of confidence at some time. Parents need to know they are not alone in trying to do what is probably the most important job in the world for which there is the least preparation.
